      Spring Term 4 - Plants & Flowers

Our International Primary Curriculum topic this half term is called ‘Plants & Flowers’. Children will learn all about different plants and flowers, and learn how to care for a plant. They will also be:

  • Looking at some of the things that grow around the school
  • Finding out about how to plant a seed
  • Planting and growing some of their own seeds
  • Finding out about what plants need to grow
  • Looking closely to observe and identify similarities and difference
  • Listening to stories and information books about plants and flowers
  • Learning new songs and dances
  •

As part of our exit point at the end of this topic children will be visiting ‘Bank Mill Visitor Centre’ on the 6th April 2017.

Take a look at our learning!

Entry Point

We went for a walk around our school grounds to see what plants and flowers were growing....

Children shared what they already knew about plants and flowers, then had a think about what they wanted to find out about and explore next. Here are just a few of the questions children thought of.....

Why do flowers smell nice?

Why do they need water?

What are the different names of flowers?

How do they grow?
