Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely half term break and are ready for the busy term ahead!
Reading, phonics and writing remain a key priority for us this term, as we continue to drive progress in these areas. A huge thank you for supporting your child with their reading and homework at home; I am delighted that most children are completing their homework and reading at home each night. Spring Term 4 - Plants & Flowers
Our International Primary Curriculum topic this half term is called ‘Plants & Flowers’. Children will learn all about different plants and flowers, and learn how to care for a plant. They will also be:
As part of our exit point at the end of this topic children will be visiting ‘Bank Mill Visitor Centre’ on the 6th April 2017.

We went for a walk around our school grounds to see what plants and flowers were growing....
Children shared what they already knew about plants and flowers, then had a think about what they wanted to find out about and explore next. Here are just a few of the questions children thought of.....
Why do flowers smell nice?
Why do they need water?
What are the different names of flowers?
How do they grow?
* Please put names in all items of your child’s clothing (particularly jumpers/cardigans)
* Your child should have a water bottle in class, please ensure this is filled with water and not juice.
* Please ensure that your child brings their book bag to school every day. Please can parents place reading records in the designated reading basket in the classroom. Reading records will be checked daily and books will be changed on a Tuesday and a Friday.
*Homework will be given out on a Monday and is to be returned to school on a Friday.
