Welcome to Lower KS2. Here you will find some useful information to support your child if they are in Year 3 or Year 4. Everyone has settled back into school well after the summer holidays and we are working hard. Our topic this half term is ‘This is Me’.
We encourage all children to show good learning behaviour by using the Power of 8 (Responsibility, Respect, Resilience, Adaptability, Morality, Cooperation, Communication and Enquiry) and Dojo points are awarded for using these in school.
Homework is set on a Friday and is due in by the following Thursday. Homework includes reading, spellings and MyMaths online homework. In order to support your child with their online homework there will be homework clubs on a Tuesday lunchtime and a Wednesday after school with Mrs Runciman. These are ideal if your child is struggling to access their online homework at home. In addition, there will be a topic homework set each half term. Details of the half termly topic homework will be sent home in the first week of each term and completed homework is due in at the end of each half term.
Rowling: Monday and Thursday
Morpurgo: Tuesday and Thursday
Tolkien: Monday and Wednesday
This term the learning goals are focussed around handwriting, reading common exception words (these word lists are in your child’s Reading Record) and recalling facts for the times tables.
